'London to NYC' 2012: The Companies
About the London to New York Programme
'Inevitably dubbed "Lon2NYC", the programme was dreamt up in 2010 during a meeting between Judith Clegg, Founder of Glasshouse, and Steven Strauss, Managing Director of NYCEDC. The programme gathers some of Britain's brightest tech stars that have their eyes on the American Dream.'
- The Guardian
The main objective of the programme is to help London-based companies expand by introducing them to and familiarizing them with the New York City business environment. Additionally, the programme helps create new business opportunities through direct introductions to New York's business leaders.
"I am delighted to support this initiative and I know that the UK companies who land in New York will absolutely blow the socks off the business community in the Big Apple. As someone with close ties to that fantastic city, I know there is really no better place to do business in the U.S. than my birthplace and it's great that this programme is going to help U.K. companies and talent to expand even faters. I also very much look forward to welcoming a similar delegation from New York to London in the future. Any programme that helps strengthen the relationship between these two great cities has my whole-hearted support."
- Boris Johnson, Mayor of London

“London 2 NYC provided a launch pad for us to do business in the US and connect with the leading players in the tech, media and entrepreneurial scene. For us, it helped provide some great exposure to the local market and also get to know other UK companies who were looking to set up operations in New York. The events were relevant and had some very influential people attend from both the business and political world. I thoroughly recommend it."
